¿Quién soy?
Hola, me llamo Sori y soy diseñadora textil y profesora de técnicas a dos agujas. Soy de Madrid y estudié Historia del Arte, especializándome en arte contemporáneo y filosofía del arte. Me apasionan los libros, las revistas y escribir mi newsletter. Después de mi máster, decidí seguir mi sueño de crear y diseñar prendas, formándome en patronaje y técnicas textiles. Trabajo con tricotosas, agujas de doble punta, telares, y he aprendido a teñir telas e hilados con tintes naturales y ácidos.
He fusionado muchas sensibilidades artísticas y de la cultura pop para redefinir la estética de las prendas de punto hechas a mano. Tras dirigir la primera revista independiente de patrones de punto y ganchillo en español durante 5 años, con 8 números publicados y más de 20,000 copias vendidas, ahora me enfoco en mi carrera como diseñadora y profesora, y emprendo un nuevo recorrido creativo como artista textil.
Ahora vivo y trabajo en Ámsterdam y he colaborado con marcas internacionales como La Bien Aimée, Myak, Malabrigo, LITLG y West Wool. He impartido talleres en festivales como Swiss Yarn Fest, Barcelonaknits, Madrid Love Yarn y Vogue Knitting Virtual, y mis patrones han sido publicados en Laine, PomPom Quarterly, The Knitter y otras revistas internacionales.
Me apasiona enseñar, divulgar y hablar sobre textiles. Disfruto inspirando a otros, compartiendo mis conocimientos y ofreciendo un toque personal en cada interacción. Who I am?
Hi, my name is Sori, and I am a textile designer and knitting instructor. I am from Madrid and studied Art History, specializing in contemporary art and philosophy of art. I am passionate about books, magazines, and writing my newsletter. After completing my master's degree, I decided to follow my lifelong dream of creating and designing garments, training in pattern making and textile techniques. I work with knitting machines, double-pointed needles, looms, and have learned to dye fabrics and yarns with natural and acid dyes.
I have blended many artistic sensibilities and pop culture influences to redefine the aesthetics of hand-knitted garments. After leading the first independent Spanish-language knitting and crochet pattern magazine for 5 years, with 8 issues published and over 20,000 copies sold, I now focus on my career as a designer and instructor, and embark on a new creative journey as a textile artist.
I now live and work in Amsterdam and have collaborated with international brands such as La Bien Aimée, Myak, Malabrigo, LITLG, and West Wool. I have taught workshops at festivals like Swiss Yarn Fest, Barcelonaknits, Madrid Love Yarn, and Vogue Knitting Virtual, and my patterns have been published in Laine, PomPom Quarterly, The Knitter, and other international magazines.
I am passionate about teaching, sharing knowledge, and talking about textiles. I enjoy inspiring others, sharing my knowledge, and offering a personal touch in every interaction.
